Volunteering

Whether your skillset is in admin, cleaning, making tea or welcoming visitors, there's a place for you at the Craysdale Museum. Just drop into the museum during opening hours and ask for Sandra.

Featured Volunteers

Sandra Green - Head of Volunteers

A former teacher in Hull, Sandra retired to Tollerby hoping for a change of pace from the classroom, but found a full time job waiting for her in the running of this museum! Sandra will happily muck in on the museum floor, the cafe or the gift shop, but her main job is making sure that the other volunteers are well-organised and looked-after.

Tasmina Hussain - Scientific Advisor

As a Phd student in Paleontology at the University of Leeds, we are very lucky to have Tasmina's help in the Ammonite Gallery! Tasmina is in charge of cataloguing new acquisitions and making displays - and if she's really stuck on her thesis you may be able to persuade her to give you a personal tour.

Eleanor Green - Accounting/Website Manager

Eleanor is an accountant from Skipton, who lends us their expertise in running the Craysdale Museum finances! This is their first web design project.

Spot

Although lacking any specific duties, Spot is the mainstay of our volunteer team. You can find him lazing in the sunny corner of the Local History room, sniffing out spilled milk in the cafe or sitting on your intrepid website manager's keyboard!
